I am so excited to be sharing photos from our wedding day at The Cypress House in New Columbia, Pennsylvania. I came across this hidden gem while searching for venues on Instagram one day and immediately had a feeling it could be the one based off images on social media. We set up a tour, and as soon as we arrived on property I knew it was the clear winner!
The best way to describe The Cypress House is a perfect balance of cozy & intimate, yet upscale & elevated. We fell in love with the relaxed vibe, lush greenery, historic home on-site and of course the fact that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all take place outdoors. We chose a Saturday in June to get married and had the most lovely 80 degree day filled with sunny skies.
The girls got ready at the beautiful home on-site, while the guys got ready at a nearby hotel. We spent the morning listening to music, snacking on food and getting our hair and makeup done. It was the perfect space for all of us to hangout while awaiting the day’s festivities.
Our ceremony took place in the 360 degree colonial garden which I loved SO much. The circular alter is part of what drew me to the venue– I love how unique and different it is compared to your standard ceremony set up at most venues. Cypress Floral did an incredible job with the ceremony florals, creating a half circle floral arrangement which complimented the garden and surroundings of the property flawlessly.
Cocktail Hour took place around The Cypress House pool adorned with fountains, string lights and garden urns. There is the most beautiful, large tree hanging over the patio as well which provides ample shade during warmer weather, and the beautiful field views are a nice bonus! Again, I loved how home-like this space felt while still providing a refined ambiance.
A tented reception was my number one must-have while researching venues, and The Cypress House certainly delivered in that realm. I loved the indoor/outdoor feel our reception had and the ease of still being able to utilize the pool area next door for extra space.
Both the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception locations are all so close together, making it easy for guests to navigate providing such an intimate experience.
The Cypress House is run by three sisters who are all so incredibly talented. Among them you have Courtney (venue director), Chelsea (Cypress Floral) and Alexa (Cypress Design). The biggest benefit to hiring them as a team is how seamlessly they all work together to bring your vision to life. We wanted a romantic feel with juicy, summer colors and that’s exactly what we got! They also provide a wedding day coordinator which is so helpful when it comes to logistics and planning. We had Chloe and truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. In addition to the wonderful Cypress House staff, I have to give a shout out to our phenomenal DJ, Alex Nepa, and my associate team Bianca and Sandy who photographed our day so beautifully.
Our wedding day at The Cypress House was everything we had dreamed of and more. The venue’s enchanting atmosphere, combined with the exceptional service and attention to detail, made our day truly special! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate our day in such a breathtaking setting with our closest family and friends, and are excited to relive these memories for years to come. I HIGHLY recommend every engaged couple to consider The Cypress House as their wedding venue. I promise you won’t regret it!
Getting married at The Cypress House? I’d love to photograph your day!
